Scarcliffe Wheelbarrow Derby is the all new and exciting sister event of Scarcliffe Soapbox Derby for 2018. This new Derby day is an exciting & fun competitive village event for everyone to enter. The age limit is from 8 years old and has no upper age limit...

We are hoping the Scarcliffe Wheelbarrow Derby will draw in entries of over 50+ teams, helping  

make the day a real spectacle for everyone while offering a brilliant atmosphere. All you need is a partner of similar age group to enter as a team along, with a wheelbarrow, both dressed to impress and we’re hoping to see some whacky ideas! - Trophies will be available on the day for best dressed, not just the quickest teams.

The race track will start at the bottom of Main Street (near the Bottom Pub) and run up through the village for 140 meters, past the Church and finish around the entrance to Devonshire Cottages, with all team individuals having to switch positions (pusher & driver) at the two thirds distance mark – testing the skills, speed and power of everyone!

As usual we will be raising money for our chosen charities, but also St Leonard’s Church of Scarcliffe which will prominently stand in the background of the races on the day.

So, if you and a partner in crime fancy a fantastic summer day out, then there will be no better place than Scarcliffe to spend a day this July… watch out for online registration soon, where you will be able to enter as a junior or senior team…

During January 2018, we are in consultation with the residents of Scarcliffe for the event. Please find a copy of the letter below.

UPDATE 6/03/18: Event Registration is now open!

Register your team by submitting our online form HERE, it only take two minutes.

Team age groups are:

• Juniors 8-14
• Senior 15+

UPDATE 07/03/18: We have now reviewed our costs for the event and now able to offer an entry fee of only £10 per team, instead of the original £20 !
